Title I Part A-Schoolwide Project
Title I, Part A funds may be used in a Schoolwide model or a Targeted Assistance model. A schoolwide program allows the use of Title I funds to upgrade the entire educational program to meet the educational needs of all students in a school. In Valley View ISD this option is made available to campuses with a poverty threshold greater than 50.0%. The threshold is reviewed each year during the planning cycle. As of 2006-07, Valley View I.S.D. will have 6 Title I schoolwide campuses and no targeted assistance campuses. Under the accountability provisions in No Child Left Behind (NCLB), states, school districts and campuses are evaluated annually for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) . The Texas AYP Plan meets the requirements of NCLB and maintains the integrity of the Texas Assessment program. Programs/activities supported, all or partially, by Title I funds are: Community Liaison: Extended Day: Staff Development: Parent Literacy: Title I Schoolwide Campuses |
